********************************************************************************* * * * SO, YOU WANT TO RUN A WEBSITE ON THE MOST BADASS OPEN SOURCE WEBSITE * * SOFTWARE EVER CREATED * * * ********************************************************************************* * The Gazelle Files - A crash course in the Gazelle BitTorrent tracker * * frontend, by the official Gazelle developers * ********************************************************************************* //--------- Introduction -------------------------------------------------------- Gazelle is a high performance, well organized php frontend for private BitTorrent trackers. It is a 100% original source project - no part of the codebase was based off any other codebase in any way (don't let anyone tell you otherwise). Gazelle was designed to be very fast and very easy to modify - but if you're reading this document, you should already know this. These files were designed very similarly to Gazelle - clean, organized, simple, with as little bullshit as possible. You will find information on how to install and configure the codebase, how the database schema works, what the coding standards are, how the code is laid out, how you should configure your server, and miscellaneous tips and tricks on running your tracker, drawn from our experience as tracker staff and our collective years as system administrators. But before we do that - this is one of those shows where the credits come first. //--------- Credits (in alphabetical order) ------------------------------------- Gazelle codebase written by the What.CD sysops: - A9 - ThisGuy - WhatMan With contributions from: - Borbus - fragmer - Vars Ocelot tracker written by What.CD developer: - lenrek Special thanks to: - The rest of the What.CD staff, for their hard work, support, feedback, and suggestions - The Gazelle alpha testing team, for their ruthless bughunting - OiNK, for giving us something to look up to - Our wonderful host, for being awesome - The BitTorrent community staff members, for helping us out in our times of need - you know who you are - And finally, the What.CD userbase.
